Fall is in the air.................

What a beautiful Maple Tree.......now is the perfect time for planting.

It was really nice to get outside for awhile, I've been so busy crafting for the past two weekends....I'm starting to get a bit stir crazy. I was just watching on the sidelines......my husband tells me I'm a pretty good foreman.

Just popping in to wish all of you a very Happy Sunday afternoon! I have been crafting non stop for two days---lots of fun Halloween items to share with you on October 4th.

My husband gave me this cute card yesterday.....it says, "Would you mind very much if I sorta had a little crush on you forever?

I love you Dan......you make me happy every single day :)

Cinnamon Crinkles

As promised the Cinnamon Crinkle Recipe.....something like "Snickerdoodles". Oh and cute measuring spoons and cups! My mom picked me up this cute little set at Bed, Bath and Beyond! Fun!!

Cinnamon Crinkles
½ cup butter
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
1 ½ cups sugar
1 teaspoon soda
¼ teaspoon salt
3 cups flour 
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Beat together in mixing bowl; butter, shortening, 1 ½ cups sugar and eggs until creamy. Add flour, soda, salt, cream of tartar and mix thoroughly. Roll dough into balls the size of a walnut. Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon. Roll balls in sugar mixture and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges start to brown. Makes 3 dozen.

I really love this recipe! It's in the cookbook, "What's for Dinner". It has all of the recipes that I grew up with and lots of other great ideas! Hopefully it will help get me out of my cooking rut!

Thanks for all of the sweet emails about my apron! I used the basic waist apron pattern out of "The Apron Book". This book is fabulous! I love the cute little stories and recipes. Wonderful book if you love aprons :)

Fashion Risk?

Would a crafty gal wear her wedding shoes, vintage apron and tiara to her Fall Crafting show? Probably not! But wouldn't it be fun to see the reactions? *Wink Wink*.

Saturday night I invited the Fall Crafting Divas over for some fun crafting. I wanted everyone to get acquainted and feel comfortable at my show on October 4th.

I made them "Crafting Diva Survival Kits". They consisted of Diet coke and a huge chocolate bar all wrapped up and ready to eat when necessary.

We are making our own hostess aprons for the show and my sisters will be offering aprons and smocks for girls and boys--they are so darn cute!!

My heart wasn't in it as much as it could have been because Maggie was sick and I was terribly worried :(

Everyone's Tiaras turned out marvelous--they are still working on their aprons. Anything goes with our aprons-- we all have different taste and the fabrics that everyone picked out are all so wonderful and fun!

They have promised to bring their tiaras along for fun, the day of the show. Just have to get a photo of everyone with their aprons and tiaras on----maybe they will wear their wedding shoes too? Some stilettos would be fabulous? You think? LOL

I made my apron out of a fun Dick and Jane print---Yes, I dearly love Dick and Jane! Made a whimsical pocket with an old button and finished it with pom pom trim. I'm definitely making more aprons--they are so fun :)

Thanks to Ele for giving me that glittery "M", it sure did come in handy and I'm addicted to chip board letters and numbers now!!

Oh My!! What is this I see?

Oh Hooray!! I never thought grass blades would look so cute! We just planted a little over a week ago...and look at them go!

I'm not used to not having a lawn, we always bought homes that were older and we remodeled. I will not miss all of those thorny stickers we are stepping on daily! Hello grass!

My laptop is in the shop, so I have not been a very good blogging gal for the past week. I finally broke down and decided to use my husbands computer. Maybe--- I think that I'm Carrie Bradshaw, from Sex and the City---and I'm writing columns....not her kind of columns....but crafty ones....LOL Geez, I sure do love that show!!

We have had a rough week---our sweet Maggie was attacked Saturday evening by two huge dogs that were loose. They almost shook her to death and left her with puncture wounds in her back---she is only 7 pounds. The vet said they were very close to her kidneys. Luckily, we were able to take her to a 24 hour pet emergency clinic just up the street. Thank heavens she's ok. We love you Maggie :) Yes, Maggie loves to put plastic Easter eggs on her nose and show us. LOL

Jake and I spent our morning in the sandbox---Jake just loves it now! It's nice and quiet in the mornings and shady too! We should have grass in the backyard come next week---it's just a week behind the front! Yippee!!!

I'm planning on making some yummy Cinnamon Crinkles tonight with dinner...I'll be sure to post the recipe :) Miss you guys!! Can't wait to show you more things that I've been working on :) xo
