gardening and the three little bells.....

 

Taaaa Daaa! Finished. We used a left over fence pole, cut the top off and used wood screws to put a sweet little birdie perch on the side. I glued the plate and bowl with Epoxy to keep everything in place. As you can see, the birds are enjoying themselves....and a bit messy I might add. I always make sure my bird seed has the sunflowers too, birds really love cracking these open.

 

Poor Woody, if he's not sliding down the stair railing....he's in the fire pit. Jake has quite an imagination with the help of Toy Story. I hope this is a good thing......

Dream a little dream.....how I wish the fence was painted, weeded and filled with flowers and vegetables.....Soon....very soon. Ever since I read Susan Branch's, the Summer Book....I have been in love with her garden. I have told myself for years, that someday.... I would have something similar.

 

I love these three little wind chime bells. When I bought my first house, they were in the tree by my room. They would sing to me each night in the Myrtle tree. I love Myrtle trees, maybe I'll plant one this year. They remind me of my Dad.....he's been in the hospital with pneumonia, doing much better. He's 84 and came through the surgery just fine and should be coming home soon :) Thank you God.

Does a chicken have lips?

 
Well....actually, YES! I think they do :)

 

We are getting the garden ready and I thought these two wacky birds would be a welcome addition. We have been painting the fence around the garden, weeding and deciding on what types of fruits and vegetables to plant. I got a little carried away last year and planted way too much. Hopefully, this year I'll get it right.

I'm making a really cute bird feeder with the plate and bowl above. We are just waiting for the cement to dry around the post Dan made and I'll be set to glue everything. Eat up little birdies! I got the idea from this post and so many others. Love this site :) I'll be sure to start saving my paint stir sticks to make markers in my vegetable garden....too CUTE!

good fortune Chicken Stir Fry

 

Good Fortune Chicken Stir Fry

2 cups chicken breast cut in bite size pieces
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 red onion diced
1 red bell pepper diced
1 green bell pepper diced
1 yellow bell pepper diced
1 zucchini diced
2 cups bean sprouts
2 cups cooked white rice (brown rice if you're a good girl)
6 scrambled eggs
lemon pepper
season salt
salt and pepper to taste
oil or butter 
soy sauce

Heat oil or butter in wok. Add chicken and seasonings to taste. When chicken is no longer pink, add onions, peppers, zucchini and mushrooms. Stir; add a little more seasoning if needed. Cover and cook until vegetables are almost done. Add cooked rice, bean sprouts and a splash of soy sauce. Heat through. Add scrambled eggs before serving.

Serve with store bought fortune cookies, dipped in frosting and sprinkles. Sip a cup of lemon tea and may good fortune await :)

Super Duper Easy BBQ Chicken Pizza

 

We make this yummy easy BBQ Chicken Pizza when things are crazy around the house and we need a quick dinner.

 

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Pizza dough any kind (homemade, Rhodes, Pillsbury)
Famous Dave's BBQ Sauce Rich and Sassy (love that name!)
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1 onion
2 cups cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works for us)

Roll dough on stone or pizza pan. Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce and sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese on dough. In bowl, combine cooked chicken and enough BBQ sauce to coat. Spread over pizza and top with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan. Add purple onion rings until it looks real purdy :) Add more cheese if you're a rebel.

Bake 350 for 15-20 minutes depending on the pan and dough you use. Cut and serve. Sit on the deck with a diet coke and slice of pizza. Enjoy!
