Organizing.......

Good Morning :)

Well, probably afternoon or evening for some but since I work swing shift my mornings are kinda late.

Jake slept until 9:30---I'm in shock.

I grabbed a few of my old magazines and started pulling out the pages I want to keep. Lots of recipes, porch decorating ideas, boys room, entry way....etc. Even though some of these were Fall and Summer magazines, I didn't care. Jake is excited to recycle my old magazines.....he loves recycling and keeps me on top of things.

I slipped everything in plastics and used a metal ring. As my plastic binder gets chunky, I'll start tabbing categories and make a cute paper art binder. Dan got me "The Creative Station Sticker and Magnet maker for my birthday and I used my birthday $$ to get "The Cinch", book binder. Girl Scream.....

I'm pretty sure the Craft Monster in me will be coming out soon. So excited to try these out.

The Powder Room

Here's our little Powder Room. Things are going great (so far) with the spring cleaning.

I know the kitchen will be the Biggest job ever.....so I have been avoiding it (Dan has too). I bake almost everyday, mostly different kinds of quick breads, so the kitchen is a floury buttery mess.

The Powder Room didn't get a decorating redo, just three new linen bags and a good spring cleaning.

I found these linen bags at HomeGoods. You get three for under 10 bucks. Sweet.

I guess you could say....Maggie thinks it's her room.

She's a bit of a Diva like that.

Every Powder Room needs a Powder Puff Girl :)

Happy weekend!

I actually LOVE doing laundry (not ironing), so this room was a blast. However, I do love collecting things about ironing....hahahaha.

I have had so many things tucked away for a few years not wanting to display them until I had everything I wanted. It's a very simple laundry room and just full of color and things I LOVE.

This is my FAVORITE part. My sisters gave me this darling chicken wire chalkboard two years ago. (I know it took me that long to do this). I found a few of my favorite laundry room inspired photos of my family to display.

I loved visiting Aunt Ruth at the cleaners. She always looked so cute in her white uniform and nurse shoes. She always had a pocket full of quarters and told me to get a soda and candy bar. She really knew her stuff, she was amazing at her job. I love how proud she was to work there and everyone adored her.

I thought it would be fun to grab a few of these colorful looking laundry soaps and cleaners to display on my cupboard shelves. The boxes are a buck and remind me of that retro look.

I Love my "No Swimming Sign", it's always been in my laundry room. It cracks me up :) My girlfriends Sheryl and Becky gave it to me years ago. Still a favorite.

I found this darling clothes pin bag at the Farm Chick's Antique Show last year :)

The bag hanging on the door is from Target.

It's just a one bun laundry room, so that's all there is to show you :) I organized all the cupboards, drawers and everything is fresh and clean. (for a day or two).

I found the brushes, sponges, dust pan and cute basket at the dollar store......cute stuff :)

Chile Verde Bowl

I love my friend Hetti's Chile Verde but if you want to make it from "scratch", this one is incredible.

Chile Verde Bowl

2 TB vegetable oil
5 pound boneless pork roast, trimmed
season salt and pepper
2 yellow onions, chopped
5 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 15 ounce can green enchilada sauce
2 4 ounce cans diced green chiles
2 14 ounce cans diced tomatoes with green chiles
1 tsp. chicken or beef bouillon granules
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Cut pork roast in 4 pieces. Season pork with season salt and pepper on all sides. Brown roast on all sides in vegetable oil. Add garlic and onions, cook for 2 minutes, stirring often. Place pork, garlic and onions in crock pot. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook on low for 8 to 9 hours.

Remove roast and shred into bite size pieces. Keep warm with foil. Pour liquid from crock pot in large saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil on stove and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring often. Add roast and verde mixture back to crock pot, stirring to coat. Turn crock pot to high to allow mixture to heat through.

Serve with warm tortillas, sour cream, cheese, green onions and tomatoes if desired.

Instagram Spring Cleaning
