I've been missing for a week because of this bread.
I'm pretty sure that's why.
I've been determined to make a cherry chip loaf because of this silly movie I've been watching countless times.....still. "The 12 dates of Christmas".
I did find this recipe along the way. It's not as sweet as the other bread I've been trying to perfect but it's a good holiday gift giving bread :)
If I was being honest, I'm so sick of sweets right now. Taste testing is overrated.
I'm sure I'll change my mind tomorrow....but I'm pretty sure my pants won't fit.
Dish washing galore......
I also made these French Breakfast Puffs to take to work.
A little going away present for one of the gals........I think they are pretty darn cute :)
Always a huge hit.
Cherry Chip Pecan Bread
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup marashino cherries, drained and chopped
In medium mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In large mixing bowl combine butter and sugar. Cream until well combined. Gradually add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Slowly add flour mixture. Mix until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips, pecans and cherries.
Grease and flour 8" x 4 " loaf pan. Pour ingredients in pan. I also like using the mini loaf pans for gift giving.
Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack.

I volunteer to taste test; it's the least I can do.
