Dan is always surprising me with decorating and cooking magazines.
This recipe caught my eye and I had to make it as soon as possible :)
Hope you like them as much as Dan does did.....*wink*
Peanut Butter Brownies
3/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2 1/4 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2 cups milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
1/2 cup quick or regular oats
In large bowl, cream shortening, peanut butter and sugar. Gradually beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth.
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir with wire whisk to combine. Gradually add to peanut butter mixture. Mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips, peanuts and oats.
Spread in 15 x 10 inch greased baking pan. Bake 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick test comes out clean.
Let cool and cut in bars. Store in airtight container.
