The weekend began with a little excitement.
Jake lost his first tooth. A huge deal in this house, I must say.
He's been waiting patiently for at least a year. Funny thing is, he went to the dentist just last week. No wiggly tooth in sight. Then in school all last week it was "dental health week". The kids made molds of their teeth with marshmallows and paper plates. Completely hysterical! I can't begin to tell you how much I adore this piece of artwork :)
OK, back to the tooth story. We were having soup and breadsticks. Jake was drinking a bottle rootbeer, which we rarely ever buy. I did notice all day his tooth looked a little crooked but didn't think much of it. Well, he bumped his tooth on the bottle....said "ouch". I looked over and there he was.....one tooth missing.
Poor little guy accidentally swallowed his first tooth.
I told him it didn't matter much because the "fairy" is full of magic and we were quite certain she'd pull through.
(i admit, I had a lump in my throat, tears starting. My baby is growing up).
In the morning....a few shiny coins on his dresser did appear.
She may or may not have sprinkled purple glitter on the coins ----at least that's what I heard.
I've been itching to pull out my Smashing Book and get to work. I've had a hard time getting inspired---so I dolled it up a bit and now I'm in laaaa-LOVE. In this particular Smash Book, it's just a lot of odds and ends of things I love. Special love notes from Dan, movie ticket stubs, thank you notes from wonderful friends, photos, tags......just the things that make you happy.
I'll show you inside in the next few days-----
Oh, and the Taco Soup Recipe can be found here :)
Have a GREAT Smiley Weekend!
Teeth or no teeth....it's all good
