I've been meaning to post these pictures, I'm just a little late :) They were taken on July 21---oh A LOT has happened since then.
We can barely walk in our jungle of a garden. As soon as I make sure what is going on in there, I'll do a little pruning and get some things back in shape. I'll snap a few photos tonight to show you what I mean.
All I know is.....we did NOT plant a single pumpkin this year. I didn't want the snakes and wanted everything a little more open so I could see what was going on---really it was to see if we had the "snake friend" back.
I really don't like those kind of surprises.
No sign yet, But now that I've said that aloud. I'm extremely superstitious.....now he'll be waiting for me.
I'm sure of it :(
Anyway, somehow we have about four to six pumpkin plants that are running wild. We didn't have the heart to pull them up. It's kind of exciting to see what we'll get.
In other exciting gardening news....the Japanese Cucumbers are amazing. We only planted four plants and seriously, I can't keep up with them. If I get enough energy this weekend, I would love to make pickles. I have pinned a ton of recipes, just trying to decide which one to use.
A few years ago, my girlfriend Shirley brought a Japanese cucumber to work for her lunch. She offered a few slices to one of the other gals in the unit. She then offered me a few slices, while Shirley was away---somehow we ate the entire thing.
I have no clue what came over us to this day.
They are pretty good size too. Well, looks like my guilt is finally coming to an end. Shirley will be receiving more cucumbers than she'll know what to do with. We still laugh about this all the time. All I know is that was the best tasting cucumber I ever had!
Dan made us a tee pee last weekend. Jake loves it :) Although, I do apologize to him, that I found a really girly sheet and blanket. I'll have to look around for something a little more neutral :) ha!
Until next time.......
