A few years ago, we decided to drive to the city for a shopping adventure.
We came across this quaint little antique shop. I have no clue what the name was and sure hope I can find it again one day.
I ran in quickly, because Jake was three.....and we all know what could happen in a place like this with a three year old.
I remember spotting an over-sized---well, Huge chalkboard and really wanted it. I sure wish I had grabbed it but we were trying to watch our pennies, so I kept looking.
Then I saw it......this cabin dollhouse. I had the gal hold it, she had just brought it to the shop minutes before. Dan came in and paid for it, it was my birthday gift. (at least that's what I keep telling myself).
I always wonder, who owned it before me. If a little girl played with it, or maybe a big girl like me. Did the little girls daddy or mommy build it? I guess I'll
never know the history behind it, or how old it really is. I do know that I will give it a perfect home, inside our home.
time to dust and pick out the wallpaper........
Santa brought me this cute china hutch for Christmas. I'm still deciding what color to paint it. Red is always nice but I think I'll wait until I make the little curtains for the windows.
I'll wrap a few flowers around the wreath to welcome Spring.
I love the windows.....with their old fashioned charm. They even move up and down.
Some lucky doll is going to have so much fun making a new dress with this old Singer sewing machine :)
more to come.....and YES, I'll be making dolls, curtains, furniture and accessories for my little house. I will even add them to my shop just in case you like them too.
