I really loved the weekend.
It's been awhile since we've been able to just do our thing and enjoy ourselves.
On Saturday, we made grilled chicken and Spanish Rice. I made so much salsa last season and wasn't as happy with it as I've been in the past, so this recipe is a great way to use it all up.
Note to self: Don't be shy.....add more "heat" this year!
OK, and made yet another batch of Rice Krispy Treats. I will soon turn into one of these devils.
Unfortunately, we are in for a snow storm the next couple of days. I think it will just be a rain and snow mix. Needless to say, the daffodils are less than thrilled.
We snipped quite a few flowers yesterday and stuffed a bunch of old beer bottles and jugs with them. I love collecting beer and soda bottles. So many fun things you can do with them!
Then we headed outside to work on the fire pit. I should have taken a before picture, because it was really something to see. Large weedy grasses and a few of our trees didn't quite make it this year. I'm glad they are guaranteed for a year. I guess in a few weeks we will try tree shopping again.
It's been quite windy here this weekend so it was the perfect excuse to take a break and fly a kite. Jake's Godmother gave him a kite and he's been so excited to use it. It took awhile, but we finally had success. I honestly, have never bought Jake a kite, never even really thought about it.
All I have to say is......I'm definitely flying a kite everytime I get the chance :)
Go fly a kite...........
