Just a lazy day Sunday, too hot to go outside and indoor chores don't seem all that fun.
I've been saving all of our mini cereal boxes to make these little lovers. Just the cutest things.
I used 5/8" Cinch wires and put about 50 little sheets of paper inside for doodling.
Got my pretty papers, my kiss me kiss me stamp and my worry people.
I'm all set :)

I'm still loving Project Life, I haven't posted anything since around Week 16, but I've still been working on my pages and trying to back track into last year too. I really want to complete 2012 but I don't see myself going back any further than that.
I think it would be a good idea to just take the highlights from the previous years and start making regular scrapbook page layouts for those.
For the layout shown above, I used the Studio Calico project life kit, Valley High and the Jennifer add-on. I just started getting the kits and couldn't be happier. I use a lot of memorabilia, papers and embellishments---these kits really help keep me inspired. Oh and it's always fun to get presents in the mail :)
I also used other papers from American Crafts and a sparklers box. I love the 6x6 paper packs, so easy to cut what I need. I use every little extra scrap too.
It's still hotter than a firecracker here, so I'm staying in doing laundry and scrapbooking a little.
Hopefully, we can go on a bike ride tonight.

Seems like every time I write, I'm telling you I'm on vacation. It does seem like I've been taking a little more time off this year.
and it feels really good.
I love being home. I'm a homebody. I'll admit it.
I've been pinning things on Pinterest for about two years now, never made a thing. Well that is until this month.
I actually made one dessert and two crafts :)
I think I'm on a roll!
I've been in a creating rut lately, I think it's just our yard work seems so overwhelming but we finally have a plan and have it under control.
I think.
So we made paper boats. Yes, I asked Dan and Jake to help me out with this----I wasn't sure I would understand all of the folding this and folding that. But.......so easy. I would have made more than one if I could, but I ran out of "cute" paper. I have tons of double sided card stock pretty paper---but it's way too thick and tears when I folded the last step of the boat. Made me crazy, but if you have the correct paper, it's a breeze.
I used a toothpick flag for a sail and some leftover navy and white Baker's Twine. The one and only piece of scrapbook paper I had that was this weight, just so happened to be perfect for my little sail boat. The twine was a great match and I used my "Smash" label maker to punch the word "Sail".
Such an easy, fast crafty---I found the idea here on Pinterest.
Jake is using the left over clunkers for his lego guys to hang in----I promised him we would make more soon :)
We also went on a bike ride last night, it was around 7:30 when we left and it was still 95 degrees. The breeze was nice, once we got going. We didn't realize we were leaving much too late and pedaled home in the dark----kinda scary. If not anything else.....spooky.
So many fun things along the way though (in the light!). I love the trail to Jensen Park, one of my favorites. We ran into so many people at the park, we didn't realize it was Syracuse City Days, and they were camping out for fireworks. We kinda wished we could have stayed at the park and watched the show, but we knew we had a long bike ride home.

As soon as we got back from Seattle, we started planning summertime adventures. Last week was science day....aka bug day. We found a Huge-O magnifying glass, with tweezers (yuck) and a capsule to store bugs at the dollar store.
I'm the kind of girl that saves (rescues) all kinds of things, from spiders, to bugs and the occasional moth that gets trapped in the house. We decided the tweezers wouldn't be so nice, but we found an awesome fly, a red ant, a gross centipede, a couple of bees and some tiny green guy. Science day was a huge success. We just looked and snapped a few photos, I think we were both grossed out by anything other than your average potato bug.
The pink mini roses by the front walk are in full bloom. They are just the sweetest things.
I've been knitting more hats and resting. Seems I've caught a little bug and feeling a bit under the weather.
Must have been "bug day".
All I can figure.

Journaling is good for the soul.
I don't stick with a particular year for one book, when I'm journaling. If I have a special picture or a great memory, that goes in the book. If I need to vent or feel incredibly happy---that goes in.
Sometimes it will be a favorite recipe, an old photo, or just how I'm feeling that day. Today, it was taking photos of hats and gnomes. It's going to feel great to give these to lots of special people in the Fall.
Journaling, knitting and gardening always make me feel better.
