The days in July

Last weekend we had family over to celebrate the Fourth of July. So much good food(that I forgot to take photos of), a friendly football game, celebrating my Moms 88th birthday, water balloon fights and great fireworks. We have a pretty good view of our cities fireworks right in our own backyard, so that's pretty great.

As I was cleaning the house and decorating for the party, I was in serious need of a table runner for our dining room. That definitely wasn't in the budget, but then I remembered I had a few rows of squares I had sewn together years ago---I think 10 years to be exact! I quickly pieced them together, found some navy fabric for the back and in no time had myself a new Patriotic table runner. I tied it with a few strands of cotton off white yarn---I really love it. I just can't believe it took me 10 years :) I'm sure I have a hundred more half completed projects too. I think I will slowly work on that each month. It's such a feel good thing.....you know?

We also grabbed our favorite treats a few days before and found a movie in the park. Jake was so excited it was The Lego Movie.

Holiday makings.....

We had a really nice long weekend. It seems like Halloweentime always wears me out---with my boutique, doll orders, Halloween baking, trick or treating......on and on.

The day after Halloween, I took everything down as fast as I could. I did some cleaning, organizing, made some soup for the freezer and decorated for Thanksgiving.

The house feels warm and cozy and clean for a few hours at most.

I'm working on a few not so scary Monster Dolls, Santas and a few more goodies for the holidays.

I'll be adding them to my shop this weekend.

I love my Sewing Room

It's that time again.

I'm so excited that my crafty sewing space is clean and organized.

(hey don't look in that closet). I'm just say'in.

We pulled everything out---cleaned the walls, carpet, windows and dusted all the shelves.

The shelves are from IKEA and the sewing table is a Koala sewing cabinet.

I found the chair and island at a local furniture store on clearance.

The chandelier is from Lowes.

and the paint color is Behr Berry Cheesecake.

Scrappy art stuff.......

It's my day off so when Jake got on the bus I ran downstairs to my craft room. We've been so busy spring cleaning and with work that I haven't had much time to get crafty.

I've been slowly adding different paper pockets to my Franklin Planner---sewing and smashing them up. I think I could do this all day! It's such a pretty place to keep your stuff.

 

Well, back to work.....I'm working on these gals for Spring. She's finished but her sisters still need their hair done........a girl's life.
