I'm so in love with how these cookies turned out.
I found this idea in an old Martha Stewart magazine. I used a vintage rabbit cookie cutter that my mom passed down to me and my sisters famous Sugar Cookie Recipe.
Happy Easter!
Easter Rabbit Sugar Cookies
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1 egg
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon mace
1/4 cup honey
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
In large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Set aside.
Beat sugar, butter and sour cream. Add egg, vanilla, mace and honey.
Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Mix until well combined.
Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate a couple hours or overnight.
Roll out on floured surface. Cut dough into rabbit shapes.
Bake 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or just until cookie edges start to look golden.
Let cool on cookie sheet for 3 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool.
Adorn with cute ribbons or frost with sprinkles.
