I've posted many brownie recipes on this blog---but this one is IT. I love that it's a one bowl brownie recipe, so easy. Also, we have different views about brownies. I LOVE the cake brownies with lots of frosting. My husband LOVES the fudgy brownies. I think this is as close to compromise as we can get. Seriously---so good.
One side is sprinkled with milk chocolate mini candies and the other side with milk chocolate chips, and then frosted with delicious Milk Chocolate Frosting----a girls dream.
Of course you can just skip the frosting candy part---sprinkle the entire pan of brownies with chocolate chips or candies---bake and cut in squares. My sweet tooth gets the best of me----so I have to add frosting---and of course those Seattle sprinkles. It's only right.
One Bowl Brownies
2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp. salt
5 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup mini chocolate coated candies
In mixing bowl, beat the first seven ingredients. Pour in greased 9x13 baking pan. Sprinkle one side with chocolate chips and the other side with candies. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Frost chocolate chip side, add sprinkles and cut in squares.
Creamy Chocolate Frosting
1 TB butter
1/8 cup baking cocoa
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 TB milk, add more if needed
Whip butter until smooth. Whisk together powdered sugar and cocoa. Gradually add to butter, alternating with milk. Add vanilla. Beat until fluffy.
